"I'm a scientist/academic so it was a nice surprise to receive funding for a project which involved developing a fun on-line solution to teach undergraduates about our research for one of my courses at QMUL. I had no idea about the technicalities involved in developing the s/w for a 3D interactive or even understood the concepts of how to build an on-line platform. The £1 Challenge website (an audacious charity project) needed to be live extremely quickly, so that people could donate their £1 and spread the word. I was amazed, the website was live within 3 weeks. This wasn't just any old off the shelf website, this was custom made from scratch and it looked awesome. The Flash banner on our site has been a major feature and has all kinds of clever techy things on it.
